Ethan woke up and gave me a great big hug and said, "Happy Birthday Mom! I don't want you to do anything today. I will take care of everything." So a few minutes later Tate came in the kitchen and said, "Mom, where is my red hot wheel?" Ethan immediately looked at Tate and said, "No Tate, she is off duty today. Let me help you." Ahhhh! Why can't it be this way every day!? Update/reality check to above: Moments later, kid's are fighting, kid's complaining about doing their jobs, I am left cleaning up breakfast mess, and bonus joy of all joys: I find big blanket on deck and ask kid's why it is there. Reply: "Joey (the dog) pooped on it." I enjoyed cleaning that mess up.
Happy Birthday...I think I will go eat some of my flower arrangement.
